A Place to Grow Too first opened in 1997 in Southington, Connecticut. Its founder, Cheryl Ouellette, who holds a B.A. in Early Childhood Education and has many years of child daycare experience, has set herself the goal to provide Quality Childcare Services to families with young children. She strongly believes that compassion and encouragement play a big deal in creating a productive and healthy learning atmosphere. Cheryl began her career in Early Childhood Education in 1986 after the birth of her first child. Cheryl continued on in the industry over the years while raising her four children. Cheryl now has four grandchildren whom she adores and also remains very active on a daily basis in her centers, while balancing and enjoyable family life.

Her focus of the first years of A Place To Grow was extensive training for qualified Program Directors and all of the teaching staff. Cheryl created a program, which has enabled many of her employees to grow and advance within the company in the past 22 years.

Since 1997, Cheryl and her husband Rick opened up several other locations. All of the centers were created with the similar idea in mind: All of the programs offer a family-like environment, where learning and growing is an every day fun experience, for the children, their parents and the staff. A Place To Grow Too Daycare Centers strive to enrich and promote all areas of development: social and emotional, cognitive, language and speech, intellectual, and motor skills. The key focus is recognizing developmental stages of children, helping to stimulate growth at the proper time for maximum productivity of the “whole child”.
